You have to understand that there are different types
of prayers that you can pray to God.
There is the prayer of petition, which is a personal prayer where you
pray to God about a specific need. Then
there is the prayer of intercession, where you stand in the gap for
others. Another type of prayer is the
prayer of thanksgiving. This is where
you express your thanks to God for the things that He has done for you. In Colossians 2, it tells us to abound in
thanksgiving and Philippians 4, it tells us that by prayer and supplication
with “thanksgiving”, we are to let our requests be known unto God. So make sure you are taking time to not only
ask God for the things in your life, but to also give God thanks for the things
in your life.
Colossians 2:6-7As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.Philippians 4:6Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Father today
we come to you with our hearts filled with thanksgiving. Thanking You for the things that you have
done and are doing in our lives. Father
we thank You for choosing us to be your vessels here on earth. Thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son on
the cross so that we can live and have eternal life. Father You are so faithful. We see, we know, and we acknowledge your
faithfulness right now. Father thank
You for your steadfast and unchanging love for us. Today we just take time to acknowledge You
for who You are in our lives and to say thank You in Jesus name … amen.
